DESCRIPTIONMachine Setup Level A can setup and process complex parts from start to finish on CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines. They also will help maintain daily production through tool changes, changeovers, and daily maintenance. Mentor and train setup level B and machine operators. Must be able to read and create setup information and do program editing, if necessary (Re-boring jaws, aligning fixtures, setting taper, replace broken tools, etc.) Can read and fully understand a blueprint, and can come up with methodology to process a part from start to finish. Must have full knowledge of a CNC control panel.

WORKING ENVIRONMENTWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED), 5 years prior machine shop experience setting up and running production in a precision manufacturing environment. Ability to use and read various measuring instruments. Knowledge of multi-axis CNC lathes, Swiss type CNC lathes, and vertical machining centers.
